" Captain Benjamin Blair pass away this morning at his home on Washington
after a year's illness caused by a cancer in his throat.
Captain Blair was born in Woolwich in 1822 and came to this city when a young
man, with his wife and for some years worked at rigging. After ship building
declined he followed the sea until twenty years ago when he retired.
The deceased was a member of Beacon street church. He leaves three daughters,
Ellen, Mrs. James Savage and Mrs. Flower, of Lynn, and one son Charless A., a
druggist in Boston.
The funeral takes place Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from his late residence,
1353 Washington street."
